Although Lord Balarama was originally worshiped by all of Humanity, with the onset of Kali Yuga (Age = Yuga) proper information and realization of His Self Revelation became distorted and then forgotten by much of the Human family. However, the ancient Sanskrit Vedic-Vaishnava Shastras (Scriptures) and Their AUTHORIZED COMMENTARIES are like a ‘time machine’ that can take us all of the way back to the Original Revelation, to MEET the Divine Revelator and Master of Mysteries, Lord Balarama HIMSELF!
Although the revelatory theology of Lord Balarama, Sri Krishna’s Second Self, is spread throughout ALL of the Vedic-Vaishnava Scriptures, in the Gaudiya Vaishnava Tradition of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, the traditional ancient Brahma Lineage Theology of Lord Balarama is especially preserved and elaborated-on in the context of describing the attributes, activities and theology of Sri Nityanananda-Balarama, Who is considered to be Lord Balarama’s Avatara in the Divine Lila of Sri Sri Gaura-Nitai.

All expert Mahayana Pure Land Buddhist Art Historians know that the canon of Mahayana Pure Land Buddhist sacred Art derives from and diffused from its two earliest main regional centers in Gandhara and Mathura. The Gandharan Forms were more Greek in style and the Mathuran Forms were more classically Indian and Oriental. In fact the Mathuran Forms are recognizable for a GAUDIYA VAISHNAVA as belonging to the Vrndavan-Mathuran cultus of Krishna-Balarama and Their Shaktis. Since it is known that the ‘Buddhist’ Emperor Asoka’s own ‘Buddhist’ Guru had a monastery IN MATHURA with about 10,000 monks in it, it should be OBVIOUS what kind of ‘Buddhism’ the Emperor was schooled-in and why ALL of Mahayana Pure Land Buddhism throughout its entire geographic range was spreading devotion to the Trinity / Trikaya of Krishna-Balarama and Their Omnipresent Holy Spirit, Paramatma.
Is it concievable that the central Northern Indian Royal Capital of Krishna-Balarama Worship would have an atheistic Theravadin ‘Buddhist’ Monastery with 10,000 monks in it? What does the historical evidence tell us about the presence of this Form of ‘Buddhism’ in Mathura, and why all of Asoka-related Mahayana Pure Land Buddhism is PERMEATED with the Holy Names, Forms, Doctrines and Practices of Krishna-centric Vaishnavism?
Take this one Wiki article for example, regarding the significance of Mathura in early Mahayana Buddhist Art… “…possibly dating back to the occupation of Mathura by the Indo-Greeks during the 2nd century BC.” My own studies have proven that the Rhodian Greek Tradition of Rhoda-Kouros and Dionysos (Radha-Krishna and Baladeva) was the specific connection between the Greco-Indian Gandharan and Mathuran Schools of Vaishnavism and the original Pure Land Tradition of the Vaishnava Brahma Sect / Sampradaya known as ‘Buddhism’. In the Mediterranean Region the Sect of Kouros Helios (Krishna) Worship known in the East as ‘Buddhism’ was the Afro-Helleno-Semitic Tradition of SOKAR-AUSAR-PTAH of Memphis. Rhoda-Kore and Helios Kouros are the Origin of ALL of the Heliopolitan-Monotheism related Afro-Helleno-Semitic ‘Greek Gods and Goddesses’. Note in the this image (left) that RHODA-Kore (RADHA-Hare) has Her pictorial pun RED Dress on!
Why have these Kore and Kouros Murti Pairs been found at the bottom of the Mediterranean, buried like the Merenta Excavation Pair (images below), or preserved in the Vatican and other Catholic collections? It is because of the Iconoclastic (Sacred Image-smashing) Controversy and the near total destruction of early Christian and other sacred Art by the followers of M*hammed. The Catholic Leaders who fought against the Iconoclasts, tried to rescue the Sacred Art of their religious domain, especially the so -called ‘cult images’ of the Proto-Catholic Heliopolitan Tradition. The Great Rhodian School of Monumental Stone Murti Sculpture in-the-round was unparalled in the ancient World. Techniques from the Masters of Rhodes were transmitted to the Murti Makers of Pure Land Buddhism and Vaishnavism at centers like Gandhara and Mathura.
In these related Pure Land Buddhist and Vaishnava Traditions, to avoid desecration of a Sacred Murti of the Lord or Shakti, if there is no other way to protect Sri Murti, the Form of the Lord or Shakti must be buried or cast into a deep body of water! Where this was not accomplished, the Iconoclasts (Murti smashers) delighted in disfiguring, beheading and dismembering the so-called ‘Cult Images’ of the ancient Mediterranean Region. They also defaced and destroyed countless other works of Sacred Art. This is why the bottom of the Mediterranean Sea is littered with countless ‘Cult Images’ from the tiny home-shrine type to great Temple Murtis weighing tons. Such Murtis were deposited there before or after desecration, to protect Them from further insult and injury. Burying Murtis on land was an alternative to burial at sea.
