Demeter is Mother Earth and Sitadevi is the beloved Daughter of Mother Earth who was BORN from Her! Thus Sita Devi appeared as a baby from Mother Earth as She was being plowed! This is why Sita was called (From A ) FURROW. To understand the deep profound connections between the Lila of Sita-Rama and the Heliopolitan Eleusinian Mysteries and related Orphic Mysteries, or the Mysteries of Demeter (DA-MATA Who ‘DA’ Bears/Carries us ALL) and Persephone, one must first understand Bridal Mysticism. In Bridal Mysticism the primary relationship of focus is the ‘conJUGal’ YOGA YOKING-OF-TWO Lover-and-Beloved Giver-and-Receiver Rasa Relationshipof the feminine soul-self or Shakti and Shakti-man God. God is always the masculine (Giver) Purusha, and Shekinah / Shakti is always the feminine (Receiver) Prakriti in Bridal Mysticism. The Jiva Soul is always the Bride of Christ, NOT Christ the Bridegroom / God. In the Adam and Eve Original ‘fall’ story, JIVA / HEVA / EVE ‘falls’ from Her relationship with ADON-YAHU, Her Lord the Supreme Atman (see the Jewish Mysticism of ADAM / ADON / ATON Kadmon and Shekinah). This is the Egyptian ‘Fall’ of the ‘BA self-soul (bird glyph) From Her Union with the ATON, ATUM/N or ATEN Form of HERU-AUSU.ALL of the related Lila Pastimes of the World / Cosmos in which the Lord descends as the Supreme Lover to rescue His Fallen Jivas are part of this same Primal Religion of Divine Love and Salvation. In the Orphic Mysteries we see Orpheus descending to Hell to rescue Eurydice. Please watch BLACK ORPHEUS for an amazing modern retelling of this story. At first the semi-divine Orpheus succeeds in retrieving his Beloved from being kidnapped by the Lord of Death, in the dark entropic underworld, but before they can again reach the eternal life-giving sunlight, He looks back, and so She must return to be the Queen of Hades. As the Queen of the Dead She rules as the chaste Persephone (Roman Proserpina) and Mother Earth (Greek Demeter is Roman Ceres, as in CEREAL) mourns Her imprisonment.

Sita_Bhum_Pravesh

Sita returns to the Earth’s womb with her mother as Rama, her sons and sages watch in astonishment.

The grief of Mother Earth is manifest in the seasonal dying of vegetation and by extension  the dying and mourning of all life. This is exactly what is taught in Sri Lanka, India and Nepal about Mother Earth’s seasonal Mourning of Sita Devi when She is the chaste Hostage of Ravana. The Lila of Rama’s rescue of Sita has many versions throughout the ancient World, but Sita’s final or periodic return into the Earth is a part of most of them. The Divine King’s rescue of His kidnapped Beloved from the Lord of Death or from a Great Demon Foe like Ravana is the central theme of the Lila. That the Lord’s Beloved must eventually return to Death, the dark Underworld, or to reign with the Lord of the Dead is a frequent part of the Lila. Such Stories are always associated with Helios and Rhoda worship in some way. In Christianity Jesus descends to the Dead ‘harrowing hell’ to release His Beloved jivas from their states of Purgation. In the same way the Pure Land Buddhist Amitayus as Lokeshvara goes to the ‘hellish planets’ (also Purgatories, not places of eternal damnation) to rescue the souls there. Thus in countless Holy Traditions world-wide, the Lord of Love descends to rescue His Beloved from the temporary deaths that afflict us between lives, and from any final and permanent death of our souls that would ‘separate us from God in Eternity’!

Rhoda of Rhodes has countless Holy Names and among Them are Kore and Minthe-Basilea (Mint-Basil, Queen Tulasi). These are also by-Names of Persephone and Eurydice in the Orphic Mysteries and the Mysteries of Demeter. KORE is Sita the Daughter of Mother Earth (Demeter) and KORE is also Rhoda of Rhodes, the Source of all the Goddesses etc. Thus if A=B and B=C then A=C. Sita is a Form or Expansion of Radha, and in the Mediterranean Region Persephone-Kore is a Form or Expansion of Rhoda.

DemeterFresco

Demeter is the Greek goddess of grain. Ceres is the Latin name for Demeter. The… Eleusinian Mysteries celebrate the rites of Demeter and her daughter Persephone (Ceres and Proserpina).

The color RED and a ROSE or RED FLOWER (including a pink Lotus / Nymphia / Padma) is a pictorial pun on the Holy Name Rhoda / Radha. RHODA of Rhodes was also called Nymphia ‘Lotus’ and Asteria ‘Star’. Nymphia means both Lotus and Virgin or Kore-Maiden (Nymphos masculine is Lotus and Kouros virginal Youth). Throughout the ancient World, originally the color RED symbolized the Bridal Mysteries and the Sacramental Marriage of the virginal Rhodos and Rhoda of Rhodes. This continued until the abominations of the apasampradaya ‘sacred prostitution’ and Maenad / Bacchant pseudo-Dionysian ‘Left Hand Tantric’ developments finally put an end to it in some cultures. Another vestige of the Primal Tradition is the association of a RED FRUIT with the Mysteries of the Fall. Thus the eating the forbidden red pomegranate fruit or seeds is important in the ‘falling back’ of Persephone (Proserpina) into the World of the Dead. Of course the red apple figures into the Biblical Adam-and-Eve / Atman-and-Jiva Story, and in the Vedic-Vaishnava Tradition the Jiva Soul ‘Falls’ from the conscious Presense of God, Atman, by being enthralled and forgetful while eating the Fruit of the Mystical Tree of Material Life.

The bad news is that we ‘fall’ forgetting our eternally loving relationship with the Original Supreme Personality of Godhead. The good news is that He loves us all soooo much that He, in the Person of His All-Saving Second Self, comes here to ‘find’ and to rescue us!

All Glories to the Lord of All Hearts, Who is Rasa Raja the King of Love / Lobha / Holy Desire! All Glories to our Holy Mother Earth and to Sita Devi Who is the Beloved of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Lord Raghupati Ramachandra!

ADDITIONAL NOTE:

From Bhakti Ananda  Goswami:  Thank you to Vrndavan Brannon Parker for posting this fb Comment as an Article on hisbhaktianandascollectedworks.wordpress.com website.  I would like to point out that Vrnji does all of the website work, choosing the titles and pictures etc.  This webpage development has been a great help for me in my devotional service, and poor Vrn has been on-his-own in doing it, because I have health problems that have made it too much for me to help at all with the site.  Thus there may be minor adjustments to be made, regarding the pictures or titles, but these can be expected once in a while, as Vrn is not an expert in the many fields of my research. The above illustration from the Ramayana is a very appropriate one to go with the Article.
The above also gives an example regarding the complexity of choosing titles for my posts, which involve various languages and religioius traditions.  In the above the Roman Name of Kore-Minthe “Proserpina” has been used with the Greek Name of Her Mother, Demeter.   As a scholar, I notice this, but others probably don’t.  Demeter is the Mother (Earth) of Persephone in the Greek Tradition.  In the Roman Tradition, Ceres (Think CEREAL / GRAIN) is the Earth-Mother of “Proserpina” (Greek Persephone).  Roman Ceres is related-to Greek Demeter and Mother Earth in the Indic Ramnayana.  Roman Proserpina is related-to Greek Persephone and Sitadevi in the Indic Ramayana.  The Mysteries of Demeter and Her Divine Daughter, Kore-Minthe, were part of the Religion of Helios Kouros and KORE-MINTHE of Rhodes.

The pristine pleasure of the Earth in Her Virginal Youth is recalled in the ancient religions of our first Earthly Edenic Paradise.  For example see the Elysium ISLES of the BLEST http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elysium  or the Tradition of Arcadia.

As the sinful violence and pollution of humankind has defiled and degraded the Earth, we have lost most of our primal Paradisical experience of peaceful and benevolent living here.  we have profoundly degraded our own habitat and are now suffering the consequences.  Sitadevi, Who is our Kore-Basilea Minthe Queen of Paradise, is being held captive and abused by the Ravana-like greed and selfish cruelty of Her Plunderers.  The Earth is not just in mourning for the demonic ravaging of Her Daughter, but She is ill and ANGRY at those arrogant fools who are destroying Her beautiful Daughter, Her Biosphere!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eleusinian_Mysteries
The Eleusinian Mysteries (Greek: Ἐλευσίνια Μυστήρια) were initiation ceremonies held every year for the cult of Demeter andPersephone based at Eleusis in ancient Greece. Of all the mysteries celebrated in ancient times, these were held to be the ones of greatest importance. It is acknowledged that their basis was an old agrarian cult which probably goes back to the Mycenean period (c. 1600 – 1100 BC) and it is believed that the cult of Demeter was established in 1500 BC.[1] The idea of immortality which appears in syncretistic religions of antiquity was introduced in late antiquity.[2] The mysteries represented the myth of the abduction of Persephone from her mother Demeter by the king of the underworld Hades, in a cycle with three phases, the “descent” (loss), the “search” and the “ascent”, with the main theme the “ascent” of Persephone and the reunion with her mother. It was a major festival during the Hellenic era, and later spread to Rome.[3] The name of the town, Eleusís seems to be Pre-Greek and it is probably a counterpart with Elysium and the goddess Eileithyia.[4]

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arcadia_(paradise)

Arcadia (GreekἈρκαδία) refers to a vision of pastoralism and harmony with nature. The term is derived from the Greek province of the same name which dates to antiquity; the province’s mountainous topography and sparse population of pastoralists later caused the word Arcadia to develop into a poetic byword for an idyllic vision of unspoiled wilderness. Arcadia is associated with bountiful natural splendor, harmony, and is often inhabited by shepherds. The concept also figures in Renaissance mythology. Commonly thought of as being in line with Utopian ideals, Arcadia differs from that tradition in that it is more often specifically regarded as unattainable. Furthermore, it is seen as a lost, Edenic form of life, contrasting to the progressive nature of Utopiandesires.

The inhabitants were often regarded as having continued to live after the manner of the Golden Age, without the pride and avarice that corrupted other regions.[1] It is also sometimes referred to in English poetry as Arcady. The inhabitants of this region bear an obvious connection to the figure of the noble savage, both being regarded as living close to nature, uncorrupted by civilization, and virtuous.

  1. ———–Janaki He unearthed a golden casket in which he found a beautiful baby girl.———–
In Mycenaean Pylos, Demeter and Persephone were potniai (the mistresses). In classical Greece, they were invoked as tō theō (‘the two Goddesses’)[citation needed] or despoinai (‘the Mistresses’).[23] The myth of the capture of Persephone seems to be pre-Greek. In the Greek version Ploutos (πλούτος, ———–wealth) represents the wealth of the corn that was stored in underground silos or ceramic jars (pithoi). ———-Similar subterranean pithoi were used in ancient times for funerary practices and Pluto is fused with Hades, the King of the underworld. During summer months the Greek Corn-Maiden (Kore) is lying in the corn of the underground silos, abducted by Hades (Pluto) as it is described in Theogony. Kore is fused with Persephone, the Queen of the underworld. At the beginning of the autumn, when the corn of the old crop is laid on the fields she ascends and is reunited with her mother Demeter, for at this time the old crop and the new meet each other.[24]

According to the personal mythology of Robert Graves,[25] Persephone is not only the younger self of Demeter,[26] she is in turn also one of three guises of the Triple Goddess — Kore (the youngest, the maiden, signifying green young grain), Persephone (in the middle, the nymph, signifying the ripe grain waiting to be harvested), and Hecate (the eldest of the three, the crone, the harvested grain), which to a certain extent reduces the name and role of Demeter to that of group name. Before her abduction, she is called Kore; and once taken she becomes Persephone (‘she who brings destruction’).[27]
Sita in a casket it stand also for in a womb, further there are prairs that Radharani is the earth or material world without her no birth Krishna was saying this. He alone is not enough to produce a baby therefore He need Radharani or Maya. Its a strange compilation of verses in the knowledge coming from the Bhagavatan the comment say that Brahma when he create takes the elements for the offerings (body”s) out Gharbodakasayi Vishnu and later same Bhagavatam Gharbodakasayi Vishnu forms a material body He start breathing the Gods become his lungs and when He gets hungry then form the genitals Like a embriyo in the womb, but He float in the water on a snake, a baby to excuse me for my English, but when I read the article I get some associations by the way, when someone is working on the field it is a shudra, not a king, or a vaisya lower class people But Krishna say to Arjuna, on Kuruksetra see the brahman and the donkey and the candala with the same vision. because the have both the soul and paramatma in them. .greetings
