The Serpent The Eagle The Lion & The Disk

‘The Serpent, the Eagle, the Lion and the Disk’ The preeminent symbols of the sacred in the ancient world. The Ancients associated these symbols with the Divine. Many theories have been developed regarding these symbols yet the mystery still remains. This is particularly true of the aniconic winged disk symbol. How and why does the same symbol have the same meaning to so many people of diverse cultures and civilizations? Was it the symbol of an all-conquering triumphalist Egyptian or Sumerian Empire or perhaps of a vanished race from beyond the stars? Or is it a representation of a universal transcendent experience? The pieces of this puzzle have long been scattered throughout history, hidden amongst the mystical traditions of the world. Unravel the truly astounding and majestic history of religion, civilization and God. This book represents a Startling Revelation and a Revolutionary New Look at the Origins of Humanity’s Common Mystical Experience, its Religion, Culture and the Rise of Civilization. Researching and writing on this subject represents a tremendous journey into the ancient world, with all its mystery and splendor. Rather than soulless brutal stories of ‘burial cults’, ‘survival of the fittest’ and ‘scheming priests and kings’ scenarios, it was refreshing to recognize that the roots of civilization are genuinely positive. Civilization originally developed as a reflection of humanity’s spiritual inclinations. As an example when cities were built, they were built and architecturally planned as forms of Purusha (God), thus they are called ‘pur, puri, burry, borough, burg’, etc. The research shows that, rather than similar Gods and Goddesses being worshiped in these ‘boroughs’ throughout the world, it was the same God and Goddess being worshiped. Our common and long forgotten history reveals the diverse and unique methods that multitudes of cultures interacted with these same divinities. Civilization and culture are but reflections of the depth of Humanity’s conscious connection with the ‘Sacred’.

    • “Purusha (God), thus they are called ‘pur, puri, burry, borough, burg’, etc. The research shows that, rather than similar Gods and Goddesses being worshiped in these ‘boroughs’ throughout the world, it was the same God and Goddess being worshiped….”

You are very correct that Bury comes from -Borough- burg and have the same word root that is “a dwelling or dwellings within a fortified enclosure,” which go’s back to the Greek word πύργος pýrgos ‘Tower ‘ since Homer; that was Translated into Latinas ” burgus” english ‘Kastell’ . The word borough and the widely used ending -burg derives from the Latin burgus (fortress, castle, fortified city), which is a transliteration of the Greek word pyrgos (burgus, fortress, castle;fortified, πύργος;).

      _

      From the same root:
borough, -burg, -burgh, burglar, bourgeois, burgess, burgh, burgher

This word has no etymological root in the Sanskrit word Purusha (God) which Etymological
roots no doubt the Purusha refers to Man.

Since this very Fallacy was in the beginning of the text, i did not bother reading the rest.

      • Thank you for your comment Alaya. However I must point put that the evidences provided represent the very scholarship that is not cognizant of or just refuses to look at the complete picture. Many times scholarship focuses on the content and forgets the context. This book is an attempt to apply the context to the content. It uses sources from within the world’s most ancient living traditions in order to discover the original template. As described in the new book the work of Homer is one of the greatest obstacles towards an accurate understanding of ancient Greek religion, history and culture. Plato and his followers attempted to have the work of Homer banned for its inaccuracies and false portrayals of Greek religion and history.

This book is focusing on the Original Template not the very late borrowings or academic speculations based upon a complete disconnect from the cultural context of the world’s ancient living cultures. The etymological examples given are based in very late developments based upon the post Homeric era that are completely divorced from original authentic cultural context. All these words for Bury Borough etc are in fact rooted in the Sanskrit term Purusha. In its later and mundane (worldly) context Purusha means Man but in its original use it refers to the Original Man= God.

The use of the Sanskrit term Puri for City is rooted in the concept of the city being a form of Purusha= God. Without an understanding of Vedic religion it is easy to believe that Purusha merely means Man. Though it means Man today as in Hindi as well, its original context has been preserved within the Siddhanta (ultimate conclusions) and context of one of the world’s most ancient living traditions, Vaishnavism. So yes Purusha also means Man but its esoteric meaning is not negated merely by its common use today. Nor does its value change merely based upon the ignorance of mainstream academia. The word Purusha does not only mean Man.

For thousands of years the word Puri has been used to mean City and it is rooted in the word Purusha. The proof of this is found in the modern town of Jagannath Puri. Originally called Purushottama Kshetra its name was later changed Puri. Westernized theories completely discount the indigenous traditionalist’s view and methodologies. The fact is the use of Burg, or Borough is found throughout the world. It is much more than a Greco-Roman or European phenomenon.

Evidences based merely upon the western outlook ignore the Vedic evidences based upon the testimonials of the world’s most ancient, largest an ongoing tradition, Vedic/Hinduism. Not only is this Vedic tradition ancient it is the very source of the words Purusha and Puri. The meanings of the terms are conclusive. Thus it behooves one to apply evidences from the source when developing one’s conclusions. This book uses this full spectrum approach and does not rely solely upon one source. We must use context as well.

At times even figures in history will be unaware of the original context of the terms, symbols and concepts of their own cultures and traditions. A good example of this can be seen in the use of the Cross. While Christians have an ancient tradition symbolized by the Cross the symbol itself is much more than a Christian emblem. (Of course in the ultimate conclusion Christianity is one of the many authentic expressions of the Primal Religion centered upon Sacred Love and the sacred universalilty of the Cross is proof of this.) In other words the focus of the Christian upon a Christ-centric Cross does not negate the non-Christian value and significance of the symbol. In the same way your view on the meaning and value of the term Puri, Purusha, Burg etc has validity but it does not represent the entire picture.

Puri and Bury etc are the same word. One does not need to look to India alone to discover the facts regarding the use of the term Puri. The current Russian city of Vyborg was once the Finnish city of Viipuri. The name was changed a mere 65+ years ago from the original Vii Puri to Vy Borg after the Russian conquest of the region. However the change of name is merely in its pronunciation for the name remained the same in meaning and context. Puri was merely changed to Borg for the meaning really is the same in both definition and context.

This book is not just another attempt at parroting of pseudo=knowledge as taught by todays academic institutions. rather it represents a new paradigm in our understanding of history that, rather than discounting the ancient living traditions of the world, actually harnesses their experiential wisdom. This book is not an attempt to regurgitate the fallacies of the world’s academic institutions. Rather its an effort to present the facts regarding religion and civilization from within the traditionalists perspective. Many mainstream assumptions that are taught as fact stand in complete opposition to the traditional perspective. Thus this book proves that Vedic is not a mere Indo-European based culture. Aryan is not a race but a term meaning noble and is based in the word Hari or God. Aryans are Hariyans the people of God.

If you are ready to hear what the ancients have to say about their own language, traditions and culture I invite you to read The Serpent, The Eagle, The Lion and The Disk.

  2. What I have found is that because of their poor fund of knowledge or the racist and anti-religious dis-information that they have acquired, dear souls, like Alaya, cannot accept the facts that I have presented, and cannot appreciate my understanding of the facts, Thus they, in a kind of blind faith, repeat what they have learned from some other ‘authority’, even though it is obviously not correct. Because they have not done any research in the actual Sources, their opinion is based on what some other authority has said. Thus they will reject the fact that the Vedic Purusha, the Greek Polieus and the Afro-Egyptian PER-AUSU ‘Pharaoh’ are identical. Even the celebrated (and atheist) Comparative Religions Scholar Joseph Campbell said that the Egyptian Pharaoh was identical to the ‘Hindu’ Indic Sacred Chakra-Vartin King!

I did my Master’s Thesis on the subject of these connections, and the ancient Egyptian name for a HERU-WASU worshiping Theo-centric City was PR ‘PER’. Every City’s Presiding Form of its Patron Deity was its PER-AUSU, its sacramental social-body Form of AUSU, AUSAR or OSIRIS. Thus each NOME GOD FORM of the Lord HERU-AUSU (WASU) was its PER-AUSU or PUR-USHA. The Greeks called this same Presiding Deity of every Nome or Sacred Sacramental City-State its POLIEUS. The English word POLICE, meaning “City Protector” is derived from the word POLIEUS, which was the Lord’s Title as the City-Protecting Soul (Ausu, WASU, VASU-DEVA) of the City (PURA, PER, POL.) Other Semitic Sacred ‘City’ names are YIR / IR and PR, and UUR, UR. Maps of the ancient cities of Egypt and India show that they were called PR and PUR.

Thus hundreds of ancient cities, including those of the Indo-Europeans, Semites and Africans, were all called words that were cognate with PR/L. The Vaishnava Tradition asserts that ‘All of the places of Sri Krishna’s pastimes, except Goloka Vrindavan, are called PURA. The evidence is overwhelming, but if people, who have done NO research in the sources, want to simply regurgitate the out-dated speculations of scholars who did not have computers and information access like we do today, that is their sad perogative. Let them repeat the often Euro-centric racist dis-information that they have learned. It will not change the facts one iota. A Northern European BUR or Southern European VILLE, is a Greek POL and an Egyptian PER, a Jewish YIR and a Sanskrit PUR. On ancient maps they are identified as such. The Supreme Lord in every one of these PR/L POLISes Places or Palaces was WASU, AUSU / AUSAR (OSIRIS) VASUdeva. The compound Holy Name of the Lord in every place of His ‘installation’ or invocation, was POLIEUS / PER-AUSU / PUR-Usha. Thus the ancients worshiped the SAME God, Who was responsible for their high civilizations, and His Holy Name in Egypt, PR-AUSU was POLIEUS among the Greeks and PURUSHA among the Vaishnavas and Mahayana Pure Land Buddhists.
